“Dear guest, thank you for choosing our apartment.
We know how important an exciting holiday according to your tastes is to you; We thought, therefore, to suggest some curiosities, some nice places in the surrounding area...
The Biotope "Foci dell'Avisio"it affects an area of about 100 hectares of river bed and hydrophilic wood, at the confluence of the Avisio stream in the Adige; The Avisio torrent, 89.4 kilometers long, originates from the Marmolada. The "Foci dell'Avisio" biotope has a notable naturalistic value, as it represents one of the few areas, along the Adige valley floor, not yet occupied by urban settlements and agricultural crops; moreover, it constitutes one of the very few stretches of watercourse at the bottom of the valley not yet distorted by canalization interventions. Through environmental restorations the naturalness of the area has been reconstructed with rare species of amphibians, such as the yellow-bellied toad and the European green toad. The narrow river band is a "stage" in the migratory routes along the Adige valley; very interesting from a naturalistic point of view is the presence of ducks, geese, herons, as well as that of many sedentary species (yellow wagtail, kingfisher, small courier and sandpiper).
The "Giardino dei Ciucioi" has been open to the public since 2019. It is a structure of particular architectural interest.
An example of Romanesque architecture which, starting from the top known as the Gardener's House, develops in a helicoidal ramp path on a series of terraces
The Adige valley
The Adige Valley from Trento to Campo Rotaliano is the most important wine-growing area in Trentino, defined by Cesare Battisti, in his tourist guide, as "the most beautiful vineyard garden in Europe" and by Goethe, in his "Viaggio in Italy”, a place rich in “hills, pergolas of grapes, corn, mulberries, apples, pears, quinces, walnuts”. On this alluvial land, where the vines are cultivated in rows of pergolas.
Chardonnay abounds, widely used in the production of the Trento and Trentino denominations. Moving north, there are vineyards of black grapes, in particular of Teroldego on the right bank of the Adige and of Pinot Noir on the left, to then return to a prevalence of white grapes. The Cembra Valley, between Lavis and Faver, is characterized by handkerchiefs of land torn from the slopes of the mountains with dry stone walls with uva schiava, riesling, muller thurgau
The countryside in the area surrounding the lodgings is cultivated with Nosiola. It is the only autochthonous white grape variety and in the Avisian hills it is able to give its best. Especially in the marly soils of Pressano on the Lavis hill, a historic production area, this vine takes on unique characteristics of aroma and structure. The close link with the hazelnut is found both in the curious assonance with the term in the Trentino dialect (nosèla), and in the slightly almondy aroma and taste characteristic of this variety.
A few steps from the apartment at number 32 in via Furli, there is the homonymous farm and cellar that produces organic wines.
We will arrange an appointment upon your request for a guided tour with tasting.
The company only makes wine from its own grapes. Marco, who personally takes care of both the work in the vineyard and the various stages of winemaking, is supported by the family in some crucial moments (management of the shoots, harvesting and processing of the grapes, bottling and packaging of the product).
The grapes are harvested by hand and immediately taken to the cellar; here it is cooled down to a temperature of 10-12 °C, and then processed during the day (stemming and pressing). The must thus obtained is subjected to fermentation and subsequent refinement (in steel or wood).
